7 Months: Eating Solids, Snuggles and Babywearing



Little Mitchel Man turned 7 months last Sunday! The last month was the most fun we've had yet! We are absolutely blessed to have such a happy little boy. Every day I wake up so eager to see his little smile!   


On the weekends we spend time reading together. He loves the little cardboard books that he can chew on but usually we can get one good story in before he wants to play. He's just so attentive, looks at the pictures and listens as I read the stories. It's some of my favorite time with him. 


For Valentine's Day we made some finger painting pictures for Nana and Grandma and one for mom too! For mine, we taped off the word "LOVE" and let him finger paint all over it. For the Gma's we painted his feet and pressed them down to make the V of the word LOVE. Everyone loved their #littlemitchellman artwork and he got to paint all over himself - so it was a win-win! Finger painting with him is so silly and so fun! How cute is this messy little baby?


When we aren't reading or painting, we are simply playing with our boy. There's nothing better than tickling and snuggling with him. We live for those kisses, snuggles and smiles.  



This month he also started eating solids! We make his food in the baby bullet - Thank you Miss Tonya!! It's so simple and good for him. He was so ready for food - he quickly learned how to grab the spoon or our arm and pull it to his mouth. He's having about two servings a day - once in the morning and once in the evening. So far he's had -
Sweet Potatoes - LOVED
Peas - Not so fond of, mostly wants to play with it
Bananas - Liked it
Zucchini - Liked it
Pears - Liked it
Avocado - Unsure yet
This week we are going to try applesauce. The baby bullet makes it so easy to know what foods to try first, how to make them and how long you can store them. We are happily still breastfeeding him too. In fact, we have such a stock of milk in the freezer that I was able to give one of my friends at work 100 oz for her little one. It was really a beautiful thing! 


This month we also got a Tula - Prepster print. We LOVE it! It's perfect for when he's fussy and for when we are going to be out and about for a long time. .. . or even a short time. It's so easy to put him in and is so comfortable to wear. It's like giving him a big hug! In all these pictures he's a sleep or about to fall asleep. Such a great find! I purchased this from another mom in the Tampa Bay Baby Wearing facebook group.

Today our Little Mitchell Man (LMM) is 4 weeks old! We have managed to keep him healthy and relatively happy for a whole month! We didn't kill him, he didn't kill us..... Though some nights I thought would never end! This is from August 7th, 4 days old.... A very late night feeding. The past 4 weeks he has gained 2+lbs and 2in for a grand total of 10lbs 14oz and 23in long. He has the sweetest little face that we fall in love with every day. Even when he cries it's so cute. He definitely has a Craig face, with my facial expressions! He has long fingers and toes like his dad. His skin is so soft and his hair is so fluffy after a bath. 35 by 35

I've decided to do a list of 35 things to do before my 35 birthday (10/14/2018). And I wanted to share it because some of you are really good cooks, work for or love local organizations I can attend or volunteer at, or have a book I should read. Part of this journey will be to live in community more so I would love your help and companionship as I map out 35 things to do this year. Some of these things I will do for the first time like paddle boarding or kyaking in the ocean but others are things that I don't do enough like going to shows or running.  Drink a vintage wine.  DONE Make a hollandaise sauce. Happy 4 Months Toby: Jumping, Laughing, Teething, Baptism & Thanksgiving

So we now have a 4 and a half month old baby! It's crazy!! Time seems to be flying by now that I'm back into work but we are still soaking in every moment with our Little Mitchell Man. I LOVE picking him up from daycare every day. Just hugging and snuggling him all weekend is the best time spent. So in our last month we were in a honeymoon period with LMM. He was through his growth spurts and was sleeping well. We've now hit into teething which is a real bear. Poor baby, there's nothing worse knowing that he's hurting. But we've got a good bag of tricks in the form of teething toys and homeopathic meds to help sooth LMM.  This past month he has been charming us all with his big smiles (and beautiful dimples), sticking his tounge out and rolling around. He had a Thanksgiving performance at school for which he was a turkey. Turned out he was a sleeping turkey on stage.
