Happy 1 Month: Snuggles, Sleepless Nights, Venturing out into the World.

Today our Little Mitchell Man (LMM) is 4 weeks old! We have managed to keep him healthy and relatively happy for a whole month! We didn't kill him, he didn't kill us..... Though some nights I thought would never end!

This is from August 7th, 4 days old.... A very late night feeding.

The past 4 weeks he has gained 2+lbs and 2in for a grand total of 10lbs 14oz and 23in long. He has the sweetest little face that we fall in love with every day. Even when he cries it's so cute. He definitely has a Craig face, with my facial expressions! He has long fingers and toes like his dad. His skin is so soft and his hair is so fluffy after a bath. But quickly gets slicked down with the heat, poor thing is always on the warm side -which he gets from me - but it's better for him to be warm than cold.

Some of my favorite expressions of his.... Sleepy, angry and alert!

He just lives in his diapers all day. And we put on his cute little clothes when we go out. He's already outgrown many of his newborn clothes.

We've taken a few outings to Publix, Target, Moe's and today to his first sit down meal at Yummy House. We even went to a mom's group in Westchase to learn about the best way to wear our LMM. We bought a woven ring sling from a girl in the group and I wear him around the house, on walks and will wear him out in public soon. I love having him so close to me and he seems to love it too. He just falls right to sleep in the ring sling.

Here he is in the ring sling, at Publix and Target!

He's had so many visitors this month. We have the best friends and family! So many people eager to just come over and look at him!

He loves when we rub his belly, something Dustin discovered after our doula Holli taught us the best ways to massage his belly. He also has started to track people and objects with his eyes. He enjoys going for car rides and promptly falls asleep... Unless, of course, he's hungry - nothing settles that cry but milk.

He's a great breastfeeder and I enjoy the time we spend together in that. Unless he's cluster feeding.... That can get so exhausting, especially overnights like he was doing weeks 2 and 3. Thank God for Netflix... That's how I keep my sanity and how I introduced him to super heroes! We've watched a bunch of the Avengers movies.

He went to the grand opening of the River front park in Tampa Heights and slept through the huge fireworks show!

So far he's had a great first month of life and we look forward to sharing new adventures each month as he develops.

Happy 1 month Little Mitchell Man! How cute is that little face?
