Baby Stuff 3-6 Months: Stop Researching Everything

Little Mitchell Man is now 6 months & 1 week old. In this season we finally hit that place where you just know your baby - what each cry, crazy face and sound all mean. It's wonderful because we just got to this point around 5 months where we stopped researching things and just did it. Don't get me wrong, we still Google things - "What kind of baby rash is this?" or "What's the best solid foods to start a baby on." but we. . . ok mostly me. . . aren't spending hours worrying over issues like sleep anymore. I've learned, he'll sleep when he's full and feels good and he won't we he doesn't. I bought two books on sleep that I was certain we would read and figure this "sleep" thing out. . . never even opened them! Because, as experienced parents know (THANK YOU to all of you who gave me kind advice when I would throw something up on facebook.), you'll have good nights and bad nights and some in between but neither la...

6 Months: Smiles, Sitting up, Bioterrorism and Seeing the World

Toby, aka Little Mitchell Man, is 6 months old and weighs in at around 19lbs. As most parents seem to say, this new stage is my favorite!! Every new stage will be my favorite! It's been a VERY fun month with Toby. Look at those little teeth, sweet dimples and chunky legs! Sometimes it's just too much. In spite of his first real cold this month, he's continued to be a happy baby, still smiling at everyone he meets. He has been pretty quiet as far as his baby chatter goes....we'll see!    He enjoys sitting up and playing with his toys or taking baths. He jumps forever in his jumper and LOVES to sit and read books. My favorite is reading books with him. He just snuggles in on your lap, listens to all the words, looks at the pictures and even helps turn the pages. He's such a smart little cookie! One of our favorite things is when he's done with his bath, we'll stand him up on the counter to look at himself. He just smiles when he sees himself and...
